Annual Appeal

Partnering with CK lets us chart a course for greater community involvement. We're the Presenting Sponsor of CK's Peppa Pig: My First Concert, a children's classical music event that the Suquamish Tribe is underwriting in January; your kids and grandkids will love it! We are adding a new free family concert in the spring that literally puts instruments into the hands of local kids and helps them find out where they can get musical instruction. We'll be musically prominent in Bremerton's Armed Forces Day and Poulsbo's Viking parades - as well as have a presence at Whaling Days in Silverdale. We're giving several in-home recitals and planning a musical picnic as fund-raisers. To top off the season, we hope to give a free 4th of July Concert to help celebrate our nation's 250th birthday.
But we're not transitioning away from those traditional elements that have made us who we are. We are continuing to bring celebrated live symphonic and choral music to Kitsap. The Chorale joins the Orchestra in four of six major concerts. Our Youth Jazz Ensemble is still in full swing and growing. In the Spring, watch for our popular OrKIDstra educational program, as usual. We'll continue our Young Artists Competition, proving participants with adjudicated feedback and staging our Rising Stars Showcase concert for top-performing young artists. Winners in the two age groups will win cash prizes and be featured in performances with the Bremerton WestSound Symphony.
So in our year of transition, we're navigating with purpose upon changing tides, excited by the prospect of new, central concert halls and steadied by a deeper investment in community life. In this giving season, as a patron of our Association, would YOU contribute to the financial stability of our passage? Will you help keep us afloat and on course? Please do.
Sincerely yours,
Tom Cameron, President
Bremerton Symphony Association
Connie Lord, Vice President
Bremerton Symphony Association

Dear Patrons and Supporters,
In mid-October, we launched Bremerton Symphony Association's 83rd Season. We say "launched" because we often think of the Association as a vessel like those you see in the Navy Shipyard. We're always making changes and uprates, both external and internal; even our staff, musicians, board, and patron list - like a ship's officers and crew - are in a continual replacement cycle. That's why this yearly letter is important: to let you know the plan we're following for this current transition into a better version of ourselves, and to ask that you join us in keeping this community ship seaworthy.
If you were there last month, you heard Brahms' 3rd Symphony in Central Kitsap School District's outstanding Performing Arts Center. we are becoming a full partner in CK's remarkable lineup of shows, so now we can look forward to having great venues in the heart of the county! We are ready: Years ago, we inserted "WestSound" into the Orchestra's name to acknowledge that our demographic comprises the entire Kitsap Peninsula. So next season, we'll likely be using a Central Kitsap performance hall for all of our MainStage concerts. This is indeed a year of transition - the realization of a dream.
