Featured Soloist
Cyrus Yan
2023 Young Artists Competition Junior Division Winner

Cyrus Yan is 15 and from Bainbridge Island. He has been learning the piano since he was five. Cyrus feels very fortunate that he has been taught by great piano teachers such as Dr. Irene Bowling, Dr. Jennifer Hammill and Alexandra Tsirkel, who help him transcend hitting the keys to expressing music. He has been awarded top prizes in the Seattle Bach Festival, the Russian Chamber of Music Competition, and other local competitions. In addition to playing the piano, Cyrus loves playing all kinds of sports and video games and is on the Bainbridge High School Sailing and Track team. Cyrus would like to thank his parents and piano teachers and is grateful to be able to play with the Bremerton Westsound Symphony.
