May 2023 | Pentecost Service

Members of the Bremerton WestSound Symphony plus guest artists Dr. Emerald Lessley, Chris Eisenberg, and Eliza Woodyard will perform at 10:30AM this Sunday as part of the Pentecost Service at Bremerton United Methodist Church.

Leonardo Leo was a giant of Neapolitan music in the 18th Century and one of Mozart’s favorite composers. We began this season with one of Leo’s cello concertos and Sunday we will perform three movements from his Salve Regina for soprano and chamber orchestra.

Our two sopranos will sing the angelic Ave Maria in A Major of Camille Saint-Saëns with organ, cello, and bass.

Finally, the Bremerton United Methodist Church Choir will join us in a medley of J. S. Bach. We have united the Gigue from Bach’s Third Orchestral Suite with his choral movement “Ein feste Burg” or “A Mighty Fortress” from Cantata 80.

Please join us for these delightful pieces of sacred chamber music for flute, oboe, English horn, clarinet, violins, viola, cello, bass, organ, and vocalists.
